Being one of the major beer brands in America, Miller Lite has many partnership deals with various NFL, MLB, and NBA teams. Year after year, one of my tasks was to develop visual representations of the various teams – using the mascot or mantra in the form of illustration. As part of the platform strategy, I needed to make sure that the concepts came across more like fan art vs. them looking like a sponsor – Miller Lite wanted to let fans know that they were not just a sponsor but that they were also fans. The illustrations gained a ton of affinity with fans and went live across billboards, posters, stadium scoreboards, clothing and merch – we even turned them into animated videos that lived online and in-stadiums.
